Best Eating Practices For Weight LossBreakfast:Our carbohydrate intake should be mainly taken in the morning, this is when we need it, especially if our work or the day ahead requires us to expend a reasonable amount of energy. So what carbohydrate should we be eating at breakfast, anything that is whole grain really if a bacon sandwich tickles your fancy then why not, but try and make it a little more interesting than you have hitherto done, put some tomato in or your favourite cheese make it a sandwich that you can savour.
There really are a lot of alternatives what we do not eat are any cereals that contain sugar and that are not wholegrain never ever.
Sugar is a no no just cut it out of your life it is also best to cut out coffee altogether I know this is tough and I do not quite practise what I preach on this one but it is best. Why? Because coffee lowers your blood sugar level and makes you falsely hungry.
LunchIs one of the trickier meals especially if your work demands are such that a packed lunch is necessary. Salads are great with cheese, fish or cold meats the protein will see you through the rigours of the day far better than anything else you can use olive oil dressings and a quality mayonnaise without any trouble at all. Omelette is one of my packed lunch favourites I make the omelette the night before with my favourite ingredients like cheese, bacon and ham wrap it in cling film and off we go. Make sure the omelette is well cooked or it sweats to much and although is still safe to eat it is not so pleasant.
Dinner is the killer. When you get home from a long day the temptation is to have a large plate of food we have long accepted that you need a big meal at night time. But it doesn't make sense you have done the majority of the work you are going to do already in fact in a few hours you are going to be asleep so why cram your belly full of food that you just don't need. If you can avoid overeating at night it will be the biggest favour you do for your weight loss efforts. I like to have something that looks good on a plate at night-time a steak or lamb cutlets potted roast or the list go's on so that is what I have but I will serve this with some steamed vegetables and I will present it well on a plate I try to emulate what the better restaurants do with presentation. I have stopped eating grains, potatoes or rice at night-time it isn't worth it and I don't wake up hungry in the same way. Waking up in the morning ready for breakfast is a good thing as it helps to ensure that you don't skip this vital meal and your main source of carbohydrate for the day. Alcohol is fine in moderation of course, I often take a glass of red wine with my meal and sometimes more than one. The only thing I will say is that alcoholic drinks contain sugar and sugar can make you feel hungry if you are partial to a drink be aware of this and don't let it trick you into feeling hungry when you are not. Another tip is to drink a glass of water for every drink you have, this will help you on a number of fronts, it will keep you hydrated and will cut down false hunger pangs, you will also be far less groggy in the morning if you have had more than a glass. A final footnote about eating if you end up for some reason or other overeating you have not failed, even the wife occasionally overeats to the point of discomfort and she doesn't feel bad about it she just continues on as normal the next day. Read up about nutrition get some recipe books and look at presentation make each meal a culinary experience and most of all enjoy it. If you do these things you will lose weight you will be thin and you will live a longer healthier happier life. All the better if you exercise to lose weight.
