Nutritional Information.
If you follow the very basic rules I have laid out earlier there is in essence no need to watch what you eat as your body will start communicating with your brain and you will make the right choices, however recent studies have shown that by educating yourself about nutrition you will more readily make choices that are beneficial to weight loss.
First of all I want to reiterate what I have already said.
- Only eat when you are hungry and before you eat drink a glass of water to make sure it is hunger and not thirst.
- When you eat, eat slowly, chewing your food thoughtfully think about the flavours that you are experiencing, do not eat unconsciously because before you know it you have finished the plate of food in 2 minutes flat and have missed your bodies signals to stop eating.
- When you are no longer hungry stop eating, leave your food on the plate, you no longer need it, if you don't need it its not a waste.
- There are a couple of side effects to eating in this manner that I have not mentioned before one of them is that you will start to enjoy food far more than you did before, this is because you are thinking about your food.
- The other is that as a direct consequence of this you will want to eat better prepared meals you will up your game in meal preparation I know I did and now I put a lot more thought into cooking than I did before.
There is an old saying you are probably familiar with: Eat Breakfast like a King Lunch like a Prince Dinner like a Pauper.
I subscribe to this, with a little twist and that is concerning carbohydrates, carbs get a lot of bad press with some dieticians and praised by others.
One thing I think is certain; we eat far too many carbs for our own good and worse we eat them at the wrong time. Why is it when we have done our daily work and used up all the energy we are likely to use, do we then go and stock up on the one food source that provides us with slow release energy?
